The Leadership Team, which now includes board, staff, and Licensed Unity Leaders, has had several meetings. We are revamping our ministerial search process to realign with our current mission-centric* practice as our spiritual community evolves. We are creating alignment among leadership in order to provide a consistent message as to who we are as UnityCR and what we are looking for in a minister. The Leadership Team is taking an Integral Ministry Introductory Course to continue that process of alignment. (For more information, go to integralministry.com)

*What is a Mission-Centric Approach?
A mission-centric Unity ministry shifts focus from a minister-centric (pastor-flock) model to a purpose-driven approach where the entire community embodies the spiritual mission. This model fosters ownership, collaboration, and spiritual transformation through shared dedication to principles.

Key Aspects of a Mission-Centric Approach

  • Shift from Minister to Mission: The community's identity is built on fulfilling its purpose rather than relying on one leader as the "glue".
  • Active Participation: Members engage in Community Learning Circles and specialized ministries to support outreach, education, and community life. These small groups foster spiritual transformation and deeper connections among members.
  • Goal: To create a thriving, inclusive community that empowers individuals to engage, transform and apply spiritual principles in daily life.

Common Mission-Centric Values
Unity communities adopting this model often emphasize:

  • Inclusiveness: Ensuring everyone feels they belong.
  • Empowerment: Providing tools for personal transformation and community impact.
  • Integrity & Collaboration: Building trust and working together toward a common, positive goal.
