ACTIVITIES

UnityCR is an active place. Most any weeknight, you can stop by our center and find something going on. UnityCR is pleased to be a meeting place for a variety of community groups, including Alcoholics Anonymous.

UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENTS

YOGA CLASS March 25th-May 22 & March 28th-May 30th

Cindy Hathaway, a longtime congregant of UCR, will be offering more yoga classes. She is certified as a Transformational Yoga Instructor, having been in personal practice for eight years. Cindy's goal is to help anyone realize that they can live without "those little aches and pains." Yoga helps increase flexibility, strength, and strong breathing. Plus, it's fun, healthy, and it works! The next 10-week sessions will be on Tuesday evenings from March 26-May 28, starting at 6:30 p.m., or Thursday mornings from March 28-May 30, beginning at 10 a.m. Punch cards will be available at the beginning of the first class, with 10 punches for $70 and 6 punches for $50. She is also offering her classes on a walk-in basis for $10 each..

"Breaking the Ten Commandments

Susan Liddell, Licensed Unity Leader, will be teaching a class starting May 2 based on Eric Butterworth's book, "Breaking the Ten Commandments." The class will thoroughly examine each of the commandments as we dig for their deeper meanings, far beyond the traditional teachings. We'll develop practical, meaningful applications of each idea for our daily lives. Each class will include discussions and a meditation time. The class will take place on Thursdays, May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 6-8 pm. The book is in the bookstore and it is required reading. A love offering will be gratefully accepted at each class.

WEEKLY EVENTS

TUESDAYS

Intenders of the Highest Good meets Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. in the Swanson Chapel

Led by "Hawkwoman" (Sheri Mealhouse), this activity teaches you how to set your intention to attract what you desire easily and effortlessly. After a short meditation and expression of gratitude for our blessings, participants make their intentions for the Highest Good of the Universe, for ourselves and for all life. All are welcome. Love-offering basis.

A Course in Miracles meets Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in the Strong Room

The Course’s understanding of forgiveness as the road to inner peace and experience of God is unique among world spiritualities. It is generally considered a lifetime study. Although Christian in nature, the Course deals with universal spiritual themes. UnityCR's sessions are facilitated by Audrey and Verne Eggleston and Dayle Berggren. Refreshments are served. Love-offering basis.

WEDNESDAYS

Meditation Service, Wednesdays from 6-6:30 p.m. in the Swanson Chapel

Invest some time in your spirit, breathe deeply, relax and find that quiet divinity within. A rotating group of facilitators guides you through a variety of meditation techniques. Everyone is welcome. Free.

THURSDAYS

Adult Education Classes, typically on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. in the Strong Room

UnityCR offers a variety of adult education classes. Check with the calendar to see the current offering. Many of these courses are available for Unity's Spiritual Enrichment and Education (SEE) credit. When necessary, class materials are available by scholarship. These classes are offered on a love-offering basis.

SUNDAYS

UnityCR is proud to offer delicious brunches on most Sundays at 11 a.m. Relax in the light and spacious CommUnity Room and enjoy good food in the company of friends. These meals are available on a love-offering basis ($5 suggested price).

MONTHLY EVENTS

Second and Fourth Friday: Drum Circle
Join "Hawkwoman" (Sheri Mealhouse) for an exhilarating session of drumming and chanting. The Drum Circle meets in the CommUnity Room on the second and fourth Friday of each month at 7 p.m. Interested? Contact Hawkwoman at 319.431.7550. Love-offering basis.

Third Sunday: Susan's Sunday Salon
All are welcome in Sacred Grounds and Books at 9 a.m. for our monthly discussion group. Our topics change from month to month. Grab a chair, a cup of coffee and a pastry and engage in 45 minutes of fascinating discussion led by Licensed Unity Leader Susan Liddell. Free.
