ACTIVITIES

UnityCR is an active place. Most any weeknight, you can stop by church and find something going on. UnityCR is pleased to be a meeting place for a variety of community groups, including Alcoholics Anonymous.

TUESDAYS
The Intenders of the Highest Good
meets from 6 – 7 p.m.
Tuesdays at Unity Center of Cedar Rapids.
Led by Dayle Berggren, you will learn how to set your
intention to attract what you desire easily and effortlessly.
After a short meditation and expressing gratitude
for our blessings, participants make their intentions for
the Highest Good of the Universe, for ourselves and for all life. All are welcome.

The Course in Miracles meets Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at UCR.
The Course’s understanding of forgiveness as the road to
inner peace and remembrance of God is unique among
world spiritualities.  It is generally considered a lifetime
study. The Course in Miracles consists of three books, the Text, Workbook and the Manual for Teachers.
Although it is Christian in statement, the Course deals with universal spiritual themes. The Text is largely
theoretical and sets forth the concepts on which the Course’s thought system is based.
The Workbook emphasizes experience through application. The Teacher’s Manual provides answers
to questions a student might ask.

WEDNESDAYS
Meditation

UCR provides a meditation service every Wednesday from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Take a break from your hectic week, breathe deeply, relax and find that quiet divinity within.
A rotating group of facilitators will guide you through a variety of meditation techniques: deep breathing,
soft chanting, guided visualization, etc. The group meets in the Swanson Chapel right next to the sanctuary.
Everyone is welcome.

Meta-Musings
Ever wonder why there appears to be evil in the world? What is the nature of Christ consciousness?
What’s really going on behind external appearances? Come to Sacred Grounds and Books at
Unity Center of Cedar Rapids the third Wednesday of every month from 6:45 - 8:15 p.m. and be prepared for some
freewheeling discussion with UCR’s Rev. brenda. Come with an open heart and the willingness to listen and share.
Everyone is welcome.

Each year, we hold other fundraising events, such as our Prayer-a-Thon. Our annual Circulation Days benefits the community by providing a garage-sale-like event with items available at no cost.

UPCOMING EVENTS

LEARNING TO LOVE SELF CLASS IS UNDERWAY
Dayle Berggren will be facilitating an interactive class and support system to learn how to love self: mind, body and spirit. We all say we love ourselves yet we don't all act like we do.  This class will help us put all the pieces we have learned together and use the knowledge we already have. With the support and love of others we can truly love ourselves. The class will take place from 6 - 8 p.m. on the four Thursdays of February. Cost is a love offering.

FAREWELL BRUNCH FOR ANN SCHOLL RINEHART ON FEB. 26
Ann Scholl Rinehart, who has attended UCR since 1998, is moving to Westcliffe, CO. Ann is hosting a brunch after the service on Sunday, February 26, so that she can thank her spiritual family for being such an important part of her life for the past 14 years. Please join us to wish Annie well before she begins this new chapter.

"SEE" CLASS STARTING SOON
A new class called the "History and Development of the Unity Movement" will begin Thursday, March 1, and continue for five Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Taught by Licensed Unity Leader Susan Liddell, this Spiritual Enrichment and Education (SEE) class will explore the early beginnings of Unity from  the late 1800s through today. In addition, it will pose two questions for reflection and response: "What role does Unity play in my personal unfoldment?" and "What is my role in the development of the Unity movement?"

Congregant Quote  “The music at Unity Center of Cedar Rapids creates a special spiritual encounter. This experience renews itself weekly in our lives. I love being a member of the UnityCR Spirit Choir as well.”
